Swytchcode

About

Swytchcode is a runtime that enables AI agents to reliably call legacy APIs and SaaS services in production. It provides agents with implementation knowledge that vendors never documented, then governs every action the agent runs. It solves the problem that legacy APIs were not designed to work with AI agents.

FAQ

What is Swytchcode?

Swytchcode gives AI agents the implementation knowledge an API's documentation never captured, then governs how each action runs. Your agent gets the right methods, versions, and sequences for the workflow you need, and every call goes through authentication, validation, retries, idempotency, policy, and audit.

Why do tool calls break in production when they work in development?

Development exercises the happy path against a small, well-understood surface. Production runs against systems with years of accumulated versions, partial documentation, and conventions nobody wrote down. The model produces a plausible request, and plausible is not correct.

How is Swytchcode different from LangChain or other agent frameworks?

Frameworks orchestrate what your agent decides to do. Swytchcode handles what happens when a decision becomes a real API call against a real system. They work together—Swytchcode is the execution layer, not the reasoning layer.

Do I need to rewrite my agent to use Swytchcode?

No. Bring your own LLM and framework. MCP supplies integration context to whatever you already run, and the CLI executes. There is no per-service SDK to adopt.

What APIs does Swytchcode support?

Bring your own OpenAPI spec, including internal systems, or use integrations already in the catalog.

Is Swytchcode safe to use in production?

Policy runs before the call does. Allowlists constrain which operations are permitted, environment boundaries keep test actions out of production, responses are validated rather than trusted, and every action is recorded.

What makes legacy APIs harder for agents than modern ones?

Legacy APIs accumulate years of versions, partial documentation, and conventions only long-tenured engineers know. Specs are frequently out of date. A modern API is often self-describing enough for a model to guess correctly; a legacy one is not.

How does Swytchcode know whether an action actually succeeded?

It validates the response, not just the status code. A success code with a failure in the body is treated as a failure, so your agent does not report work it never completed.

Where does the implementation knowledge come from?

We ingest each API’s spec, SDKs, and documentation, then correct them—published specs are frequently inaccurate. Every discrepancy we find gets fixed and codified, so it is known permanently from then on. Your agent receives a corrected manifest with the exact methods your workflow needs, not the raw spec.

Is this AI-generated or curated?

Curated and codified. The corrections are deterministic rather than inferred at runtime, which is why the same workflow behaves the same way every time.
