- ARR (annual recurring revenue)
- Recurring subscription revenue counted over a year, usually MRR × 12. It leaves out one-off fees and services, so it shows the size of the repeatable business. MRR growth calculator →
- Backlink
- A link from another website to yours. Search engines read backlinks from relevant, trusted sites as a vote of confidence, and they are also how crawlers discover new pages. Backlink checker → · Directory backlink service →
- Badge
- A small "Featured on Launch Llama" image a founder adds to their own site, linking back to their listing. On Launch Llama a verified badge turns a free listing's link into a dofollow link. Get the badge → · Get featured free →
- CAC (customer acquisition cost)
- What it costs on average to win one paying customer: sales and marketing spend divided by the number of new customers in the same period. CAC calculator → · LTV:CAC calculator →
- Canonical URL
- The one address a page tells search engines to index when the same content is reachable at several URLs, set with a rel="canonical" tag. It stops duplicates splitting a page's ranking signals. SPA shell checker →
- Churn rate
- The share of customers (or revenue) lost in a period. Monthly churn of 5% means about half of a cohort is gone within a year, which is why small churn changes matter so much for SaaS. Churn rate calculator →
- Crawl budget
- Roughly how many pages a search engine is willing to fetch from a site in a given time. Fast pages, strong internal links and few low-value URLs let more of the pages that matter get crawled. Sitemap and robots.txt validator →
- Discovered – currently not indexed
- A Google Search Console status for URLs Google knows about but has not crawled yet. It is not a penalty: it usually means the page has few links pointing at it or the site's crawl budget is stretched. Check your sitemap →
- Dofollow link
- An ordinary link with no rel="nofollow", "sponsored" or "ugc" attribute, so search engines may pass ranking credit through it. Search engines ask that links which are paid for are marked sponsored. How listings earn a dofollow link →
- Domain Rating (DR)
- Ahrefs' 0–100 score for the strength of a site's backlink profile. It is a third-party estimate, not a Google metric, but a useful way to compare directories and link sources. Domain authority checker → · Launch directories by DR →

- Go-to-market (GTM)
- The plan for how a product reaches its first and next customers: who it is for, which channels reach them, the pricing, and the message. Founder tools for generating leads →
- IndexNow
- An open protocol that lets a site tell search engines a URL is new or changed. Bing, Yandex and others support it; Google does not, so Google still relies on sitemaps and links. Sitemap and robots.txt validator →
- Internal link
- A link from one page to another on the same site. Internal links are how crawlers find new pages and how a site shows which pages matter most. All products A–Z → · Launched this week →
- Landing page
- The page a visitor lands on from an ad, a listing or a search result, built to turn that visit into a signup or sale with one clear call to action. Landing page analyzer →
- Launch directory
- A site where founders submit new products to be listed and discovered, such as Product Hunt, BetaList or Launch Llama. A good directory brings early users, feedback and a backlink. Launch directory tracker →
- Leaderboard
- Launch Llama's weekly ranking of products by community upvotes. Top products win extra exposure such as a newsletter feature. Weekly leaderboard →
- LTV (customer lifetime value)
- The total gross profit a customer is expected to bring in before they churn. Compared with CAC, it shows whether growth pays for itself; 3:1 is a common rule of thumb. LTV:CAC calculator →
- MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- An open standard for connecting AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor to outside tools and data. Launch Llama's MCP server lets an assistant search products or draft a submission. Install the Launch Llama MCP →
- MRR (monthly recurring revenue)
- Subscription revenue a business can expect every month, normalised so annual plans count as one-twelfth per month. It is the headline growth number for most SaaS companies. MRR growth calculator →
- Nofollow link
- A link marked rel="nofollow", telling search engines not to treat it as an endorsement. It can still send visitors, and Google may use it as a hint for discovery. Free listings and links →
- Noindex
- A robots meta tag or header that asks search engines to keep a page out of their results. Search engines still crawl the page and can follow its links unless told otherwise. Sitemap and robots.txt validator →
- Open Graph tags
- Meta tags (og:title, og:image and others) that control how a link looks when shared on X, LinkedIn, Slack or iMessage. Social preview checker →
- Product Hunt
- The best-known daily launch site, where products compete for upvotes over 24 hours. A top finish brings a spike of visitors; the listing and its backlink stay afterwards. How to launch on Product Hunt →
- Runway
- How many months a startup can keep operating before it runs out of cash: cash in the bank divided by monthly net burn. Runway calculator →
- SaaS valuation multiple
- A SaaS company's value expressed as a multiple of its revenue (often ARR). Growth rate, churn and margins move the multiple more than anything else. SaaS valuation calculator →

- A Hacker News post format for sharing something you have built. It rewards products people can try straight away and a founder who answers comments. How to post a Show HN →
- Sponsored link
- A link marked rel="sponsored" because it was paid for, such as an ad or a paid placement. Search engines ask for this so paid links do not pass ranking credit. Pricing →
- TAM, SAM and SOM
- Three sizes of market: total addressable (everyone who could buy), serviceable available (the part you can reach) and serviceable obtainable (what you can realistically win soon). TAM SAM SOM calculator →
- Upvote
- A vote from a signed-in member saying they like a product. Upvotes decide the weekly leaderboard, and listings caught using fake accounts to vote are demoted. Weekly leaderboard →
- XML sitemap
- A file listing the URLs a site wants search engines to crawl, with optional last-modified dates. It helps discovery but does not replace internal links. Sitemap and robots.txt validator →
