How it works
-
1
Paste up to ten domains
Enter one domain per line. Full URLs work too; the checker reads the hostname.
-
2
Press check domain authority
We look up Domain Authority, homepage Page Authority, Spam Score and linking root domains for each site.
-
3
Read the table
Compare competitors side by side. Drop high-spam outreach targets; track DA and linking roots over time.
How it works
Enter one domain per line, up to ten. Full URLs work too; the checker reads the hostname. Click Check Domain Authority, then read the table: Domain Authority, Page Authority for the homepage, Spam Score, and the number of root domains linking to the site.
What each column means
Domain Authority (DA) is a 1 to 100 prediction of how well the whole domain can rank, built from the quantity and quality of links pointing at it. Page Authority (PA) is the same prediction for the homepage alone. A high DA with a low PA on the page you care about means that page needs links of its own.
- Spam Score: the percentage of sites with similar features that look risky. Under 30% is low; above 60% deserves a closer look before you link to or buy from the domain.
- Linking root domains: how many distinct websites link to the domain. Ten links from one site count once. This number moves DA more than the raw link total does.
DA vs DR vs Authority Score
Moz, Ahrefs and Semrush each publish an authority score, and they disagree by design. Domain Authority weighs links across one index. Ahrefs Domain Rating leans on the strength of the domains doing the linking. Semrush Authority Score mixes links with organic traffic and spam signals. The order of two sites is usually the same across tools; the numbers are not. Pick one scale for a comparison and stay on it.
Use cases
- Competitor analysis: paste your domain and the sites that outrank you to see whether links or content explain the gap.
- Link building research: check a list of outreach targets in one pass and drop the ones with a high Spam Score.
- Website acquisition: evaluate the link profile of a domain before you buy it, including how many real sites link to it.
- SEO audits: record DA and linking root domains monthly to see whether a campaign is moving the needle.
Tips for improving Domain Authority
- Earn links from new domains: a second link from a site that already links to you barely moves the score.
- Publish pages people cite: original data, tools and definitive guides attract links without outreach.
- Fix what leaks authority: broken inbound links, redirect chains and orphan pages waste links you already have.
- Keep the internal links flowing: authority moves through internal links, so the pages that earn links should point at the pages that need to rank.
Understanding Domain Authority
Domain Authority is a search engine ranking score that predicts how likely a website is to rank in search results. Scores run from 1 to 100, with higher scores indicating greater ranking potential. The scale is logarithmic: moving from 20 to 30 is far easier than moving from 70 to 80.
DA is a comparative metric, so it is most useful set against competitors or tracked over time. Google does not use it, but the links that raise it are the links Google counts. Pair these scores with rankings and traffic for a full picture.
What this does not do
- Authority scores use a live third-party backlink index on a 0–100 scale. They play the same role as Moz Domain Authority or Ahrefs Domain Rating for comparisons, but the numbers will not match Moz or Ahrefs exactly.
- Spam Score is a proprietary 0–100 signal from the same index. Under 30% is low; above 60% deserves a closer look.
- Page Authority is scored for the homepage (https://domain/). Inner pages are not checked in bulk.
- Results are cached for 24 hours per domain, so a re-check may show the same snapshot until the cache expires.
- Up to ten unique domains per run. Extra lines are ignored.
