Why broken links matter
Dead links quietly cost you traffic and trust: visitors hit a 404 and leave, and search engines treat a page full of broken outbound links as a sign of neglect.
How founders use this
Run it on your homepage and top landing pages after a redesign or migration, or before a big launch when broken links are the last thing you want a visitor — or a journalist — to hit.
What this does not do
- Checks the links on the page you paste only — it does not crawl deeper into the site (v1, single page).
- Up to 30 links per check, deduped by destination URL.
- A link is checked with a live HEAD (falling back to GET) request. Sites that block automated requests can show as broken even when they work in a browser.
- Redirects are followed, so a link that ends up at a working page is flagged "redirect", not "broken" — check the destination if that matters for SEO.
