Key Features
- Follow a structured 26-module track from A1 through A2 with seven sessions each
- Mark production exercises against CEFR can-do statements to pinpoint named gaps
- Gate each module with an end-of-module test that returns weak sessions for review
- Take an adaptive TCF and TEF Canada mock that converts results to NCLC ranges
- Rank study group members by measured NCLC on a private, invite-only board
About
Each module pairs a lesson, a grammar fiche, and an end-of-module test that gates the next one, and exercises are generated against CEFR can-do statements so wrong answers point to specific gaps. The final module is an adaptive mock in official TCF and TEF Canada formats that reports a score range with its error bar. Boards rank learners on measured NCLC rather than minutes or streaks, and stay unranked until a mock section has been marked.

FAQ
What level does Parcours actually get me to?
A defensible CEFR A2, which converts to NCLC 4 to 5 on a Canadian immigration file. The curriculum runs A1 through A2 and stops there. It is not a B1 course and will not tell you it is one.
How are the leaderboards ranked?
On your measured NCLC from a marked mock section, and the error bar around it. Not on minutes studied, points collected or days in a row. A board you can climb by turning up is only measuring that you turned up.
Can I study with friends?
Yes. A study group is a private board ranked on measured NCLC, scoped to its members and visible only to them. Start one and send the invite link, or join with a link somebody sends you. There is no public board and no global ranking: every board you can be on is one you or someone you know made.
Will my score be visible to other people?
Not unless you decide it should be. You are ranked from the start but unlisted by default: you see your own position and nobody else sees your row. Appearing by name is an opt-in that takes a handle you choose.
Can I skip the A1 modules?
There is one track and it starts at Module 01. Self-taught learners usually have holes in exactly the A1 material they believe is finished: gender agreement, negation, the two past tenses. The module tests find them faster than a placement quiz.
How much time does a session take?
Forty to fifty minutes, roughly eighteen on the lesson and twenty-two on production. The last session of a module runs longer, because it is a test over everything the module covered.
What if I fail a module test?
You do not advance. You are returned to the two sessions you scored weakest on, and you retake it.
Does it replace a teacher?
It replaces a classroom's structure: the sequence, the pacing, the marking, and the refusal to advance you early. It does not replace a conversation partner.
Does a Parcours score replace an official TCF or TEF Canada result?
No. Only a sitting at an approved test centre produces a result Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will accept. A Parcours band is practice and a read on whether you are ready to book one. It is not submitted anywhere and counts for nothing on an application.
What is NCLC, and how does it relate to CEFR?
NCLC (Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens) is the twelve-point scale a Canadian immigration file states French ability on; CEFR is the six-band European scale (A1 to C2) that language courses are written against. Parcours teaches to CEFR and reports both, treating a defensible A2 as NCLC 4 to 5. That conversion is an approximation drawn from published equivalence charts, which have been revised before — IRCC is the authority on the exact mapping, not this site.
