You remove the GTM code from your site, but you keep your container. Add the container ID in Consentify like any other integration, and we load GTM for you. If the old GTM code is still on the page, the container loads twice, and the Integrations page warns you about it. If you change something in GTM, re-scan your site from the Integrations page so your cookie declaration stays up to date.

Our consent script is highly optimized and loads asynchronously from a global edge network. This means it doesn't block your page from rendering. Third-party scripts (like analytics or ads) are only loaded *after* a user gives consent, ensuring you get the best possible Core Web Vitals scores.

Consentify handles the consent part: the banner, holding back tracking until the visitor agrees, and storing a record of each choice. Whether your site as a whole complies also depends on things only you control, such as tracking added outside Consentify, your privacy policy and how you handle other personal data. No tool can guarantee compliance on its own, and we do not claim to.

You add your container ID in Consentify, and we load GTM for you. The Google tags in the container follow Google Consent Mode v2, which Consentify sets up. Tags that are not from Google, for example a Meta Pixel added as custom HTML, do not read Consent Mode. Give them a trigger on the consentify_consent event in GTM, so they only fire once the visitor has agreed to the right category. No consent platform can do that for you inside your own container. If you would rather skip the triggers, add the tools directly in Consentify instead, and each one is held back until the visitor agrees.

Yes, according to recent GDPR guidelines, users must be given an equally clear choice to accept or reject cookies. All Consentify banners include 'Accept' and 'Decline' options on the first layer by default, so rejecting is as easy as accepting.
