Shared costs can be split per item or evenly between household members. At the end of each month, BonSplit™ shows exactly who paid what and who owes whom, acting as a neutral settlement partner instead of awkward money discussions.
Beyond splitting, you get spending dashboards by category and merchant, recurring expense templates (rent, electricity, subscriptions) and a permanent digital receipt archive with CSV/PDF export for taxes, warranties or insurance.

Yes. BonSplit works without connecting to your bank account. You capture expenses via receipts, invoices, PDFs or screenshots and still keep an overview of categories, receipts and shared costs.
How accurate is the AI at reading my receipts? +
We use Claude by Anthropic — one of the most advanced AI models in the world. On typical German receipts, recognition runs at around 98%. Even crooked phone shots, faded thermal receipts or PDFs from online shops are captured correctly. If something is off, you can fix it in a single click.
What happens to my data? +
Your data is stored on German servers (Strato) in line with GDPR. Receipts are sent to Anthropic for recognition but are not used for training purposes. You can export all your data at any time or delete your account entirely.
Can I use BonSplit on my own? +
Absolutely. While most plans cover several people, you can use BonSplit solo — the split features are optional. Many people use BonSplit simply as a digital receipt archive and spending overview.
Does it also work with non-German receipts? +
BonSplit is currently optimised for the German market. Receipts in English, French or Dutch are usually recognised correctly too — though category assignment may vary. We're working on official multi-country support.
