A tray app for every AI agent: one searchable library of your AI sessions, alerts when an agent is waiting on you, and AI usage across 9 providers.
About
AUTOMATER.ai is a small tray app that sits beside your editor and terminals and keeps track of every AI coding agent you run. Most developers now juggle several AI coding tools at once, and each one keeps its own history in its own place. AUTOMATER.ai reads the session files your AI tools already write and puts them into one local, searchable library, flags the agents that are waiting on you, and tracks usage across 9 providers in one panel. The free version needs no account.
Key Features
- Searchable library of every AI session in one local place
- Flags when an agent is waiting on you for approval or input
- Voice prompts that type into the focused window on Windows
- Compatibility check for 41 supported AI apps and CLIs
Use Cases
- Finding a past AI coding session across Claude Code, Codex and other AI CLIs and desktop apps from one searchable library
- Getting alerted from the tray when an agent is waiting for permission or approval so work is not stalled
- Tracking AI usage across 9 providers from a single usage meter
Who it is for
- Developers who run multiple AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex in terminals and desktop apps.
- Power users of AI CLIs and desktop AI apps who want their sessions organized in one place.
Pricing
Freemium: the free version runs locally with no signup required, with optional paid upgrades.
FAQ
Is AUTOMATER.ai free?
Yes. Running the free version costs nothing and needs no sign-up. The library and its search, the usage meters, the Needs You flags and local voice are all free. PRO is a separate yearly upgrade that adds to the free version; it never removes anything the free version already does.
What does PRO add?
PRO adds the parts that act: chat and computer control from the tray, managed sessions and inline replies, Fleet and Integration Health, built-in tools and pop-out mini-apps, and metered cloud voice.
What happens to my library if I stop paying?
Your library is a local file. It stays on your disk, searchable, whether or not you pay. Needs You and approval visibility are never gated.
Where does my data live?
Session content stays on your machine: AUTOMATER.ai reads each tool's own session files and keeps the normalized library locally. Usage statistics are on by default (counts, never your content) and can be switched off in Settings. Publishing to the leaderboard and PRO cloud voice are opt-in.
Which tools does it read?
45 session formats from 41 apps and CLIs, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, Grok, Kimi and Muse Code.
Which operating systems?
Windows x64, macOS on Apple silicon, and Linux x86_64 as an AppImage or a .deb. The download page lists only the builds that are published right now.
Does it run on an Intel Mac?
Not yet. The macOS build is Apple silicon only. If you download it on an Intel Mac the installer will not open; there is no Intel build to fall back to today.
How do updates work?
Every build ships as a signed installer, and update payloads are minisign-verified before they install. On Windows the signature is Authenticode and the WebView2 runtime is embedded, so the first install needs no network. You can switch auto-update off and stay on the build you have.
