What is Zynk?
It's a modern, fast, secure, private, universal and unlimited communications and collaboration tool. That's a lot of words we stand by. Do I need an account to transfer files or send messages?
Yes. You sign up with your email address, and every device you sign in on becomes part of the same account. If you created your account back when Zynk used phone numbers, your number still signs you in, but new accounts are email-only. An account is what makes Zynk effortless long term. Your devices and contacts stay with you, so you never re-pair machines or dig up a fresh link for someone you've already sent to.
How do I create a Zynk account?
Download the app, run it and follow instructions. You'll be done in less than a minute.
Can people reach me without knowing my email or phone number?
Yes. Pick a username in the app, like **@dana**, and give people that instead. Anyone who adds you by username can send you files and messages, and your email address and phone number stay private. You still sign in with the email address or phone number on your account, and you can change or drop your username whenever you like.
Is Zynk free?
Yes. Zynk is free and ad-free, and every feature is available to everyone. There are no paid plans.
What's the difference between the UI app and the CLI?
- **App:** A classic, graphical and user-friendly interface for everyday use, available on your phone, tablet, computer and even some TVs. - **CLI:** Runs in your terminal, ideal for scripting, automation, power users, as well direct, server to server data transfer. Runs on all major operating systems.
How do I link a new device?
On the new device, select **Link device**, then scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code when prompted.
How do I remove a device from my device list?
Open **Devices** → **Remove/Unlink**. The device's authorization is revoked until you add it again.
How many devices can I link to my account?
There's no hardcoded limit; multiple devices per account are supported.
