Is this an engagement platform?
No — and that's on purpose. Surveys measure engagement. TeamRally creates it. Birthdays remembered, milestones celebrated, offsites that don't fall apart — that's the real thing, not a score for it.
What actually happens on someone's birthday?
About a week before, a card quietly opens and the team gets asked to write something. The person it's for sees none of it. On the morning of the day it lands in their inbox and opens as a reveal — one message at a time, in their own timezone — and if you've connected Slack or Basecamp, the celebration shows up there too.
How does it know when birthdays and anniversaries are?
Someone tells it once. People can add their own birthday and start date from their profile, or you can fill them in on the People page. The moment a date lands, any card that's already due opens on its own — and after that it just keeps coming round every year without anyone re-entering anything.
What if someone would rather not be celebrated?
Then they aren't. Everyone has two switches on their profile: one for whether their own moments get celebrated, one for whether they're asked to sign for other people. Both are on by default, and either can be turned off quietly without a conversation. Not everyone wants a fuss, and that's completely fine.
Do my teammates need an account?
Just a light one. Everyone gets a simple portal to RSVP, sign cards, and answer polls. Connect Slack or Basecamp and it reaches them there too — only whoever’s organising ever opens the full app.
Can I run the whole offsite through this?
