About
Each scanned file is split into typed documents, so a 29-page property file becomes six sorted document kinds, and handwritten entries are read from the page image and linked back to it. Reviewers can check flagged gaps against the evidence page, ask questions in plain English that cite the pages they came from, and assemble chosen documents into one numbered PDF with an index. Pricing is per archive box, and the first box is free to start.

FAQ
What does lesspaper do?
Lesspaper collects and scans a paper archive and turns it into a searchable register. Documents are classified, key facts are extracted and linked to the original page, and missing documents are flagged with the evidence.
How much does conversion cost?
Conversion is $179 per standard box, up to 2,000 page images. A managed archive starts at $299 a month and is required for the first 12 months. Those are the published prices. They are not a binding quote until the scope is confirmed.
Who can send a free trial box?
A qualifying business can send one trial box. Up to 1,500 pages of standard documents are processed free. Every request is reviewed. Irreplaceable originals need a separate handling agreement. The trial does not require a subscription unless you go ahead with a full conversion.
Will my files be used to train AI models?
No. Your files are not used to train AI models. A trial archive is not added to the public sample.
What happens to the paper originals?
You decide which originals to keep and which are approved for destruction. Originals are not destroyed without your written authorization.
What is the sample on this site?
The sample is a National Register of Historic Places file from the U.S. National Archives. It is not a customer archive. Some materials may be subject to copyright.
