About
Inbox Archive is a free, searchable gallery of real marketing emails. Dedicated inboxes subscribe to brand newsletters, every send is captured as the original HTML, and the archive is organized by brand, campaign type, industry and the tools each email was built with. Today it holds 4,400+ campaigns from 157 brands, and it grows every day as new mail lands.
Unlike screenshot galleries, each email renders as the actual HTML in a sandbox, with its source available on a second tab. On top of the design reference, Inbox Archive detects data you can't get anywhere else: which email service provider a brand actually sends with, which tracking and personalization pixels it embeds, whether it uses countdown timers or other open-time content, and what its DMARC, SPF and BIMI setup looks like. Promo codes are pulled out of the emails too.
It is built and run by Alterable, a dynamic email content company, and it lives at inboxarchive.org.

From the founder
Why I built it
“I run Alterable, which makes open-time content for email (countdown timers, dynamic images, weather and location-aware blocks). Every week I found myself in the same loop: someone asks "who's using countdown timers in their emails right now?" or "which ESP does Restoration Hardware send from?" and the honest answer was that nobody knew. The existing email galleries show screenshots, which strips out exactly the information I cared about. And my own swipe folder was a mess of forwarded emails with broken images. So I set up inboxes that subscribe to brand newsletters and wrote the pipeline that turns each incoming email into a permanent, browsable record. Once the archive existed, the interesting part was what you could measure from it: ESP share across 157 brands, how many emails carry a Litmus or Movable Ink pixel, what share of promotions include a discount code. Those numbers come from real sends rather than surveys, and I hadn't seen them published anywhere. Inbox Archive launched in July 2026. It's free because the value to me is the data and the traffic it brings to Alterable, and I'd rather the email community have a good reference than gate it.”
