FAQ

How does quietwatch work?

You add a site, it is checked straight away, then once a day at a set time, and you get an email only when a result changes. Twelve checks run from outside over HTTP, the way a crawler sees the site: robots.txt and bot access, AI crawler rules, HTTP status, time to first byte, structured data, content without JavaScript, indexability, sitemap, llms.txt, the TLS certificate, the domain registration, and secrets in JavaScript.

What does "passive" mean?

It means we only request what a site already publishes and never log in, submit forms, guess paths or send a User-Agent other than our own. The page you name, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, the sitemap robots.txt declares and the script files the page references are the whole list, and we obey robots.txt on every host.

How do alerts work?

An alert is one email per account listing every site whose result changed since the last check window, with what moved, the detail and a fix hint. Nothing is sent on a steady state, not even a steady failure; a page that became noindexed or a robots.txt that started blocking Googlebot or Bingbot always alerts; recoveries and warnings can be switched off, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.

How is this different from uptime monitoring?

Uptime monitoring tells you when a site stops answering; quietwatch tells you when a site that answers fine has quietly become invisible: a noindex left on after a launch, a staging robots.txt pushed to production, a CDN setting blocking search or AI crawlers, a sitemap that stopped parsing. Those pass every uptime check.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

The trial is $0 today with a card on file. Cancel any time before day 14 in the billing portal and nothing is charged: the account goes read-only and nothing is deleted. Keep it and the plan you chose renews automatically each month, with an email three days before the first charge.

What does it cost?

Starter is $29 a month for up to 10 client sites with email alerts. Agency is $49 a month for up to 30 sites, Slack and webhook alerts, up to 3 alert recipients and sites grouped by client. The first 10 paying customers get Founding: $19 a month for up to 10 sites, locked for 12 months, then Starter at $29. Starter and Agency can be billed yearly at 20% off ($279 and $470 a year). Renews automatically, cancel any time.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, from the billing page, and access runs to the end of the month you paid for. The first charge is refundable within 7 days; the refund policy has the details.
