About

Borrow against Bitcoin and spend by card, without piecing together separate services yourself. BCS connects it all in one seamless experience, with an intuitive app designed for everyday life. BCS is currently accepting early-access registrations.

Founder story

My background is in Bitcoin mining. I knew the tension between holding Bitcoin for the long term and needing dollars for everyday expenses. Moving from Canada to the U.S. made another part of the problem personal. I had assets, but without a local credit history, getting access to credit was difficult. What I owned and what the credit system recognized were two different things. Borrowing against Bitcoin was an option, but getting from collateral to something you could actually spend meant piecing together separate services. I wanted to make that connection simpler without asking people to hand custody of their Bitcoin to BCS. That’s why we started BCS with my co-founders. We’re building toward borrowing that follows the purchase, with the complexity handled behind the scenes. And I don’t think a card should only reward us for spending. Repayment and the habits that improve our financial position should matter too.
